I cannot sleep.
My mind is spinning with things to do and people to call and projects to finish.
Not that I can do any of that at 11:12. (It was just 11:11 - does anyone else make wishes at 11:11?)
Baby J is kicking his feet in the room next to me. I wonder why he does that...kick his feet in his sleep.
Handsome hubby is most likely asleep.
I definitely prefer getting into bed while he is still awake. It gives me those last few moments of chatter time where I can spill out my thoughts while he sleepily 'humphs' a response.
But I have no desire to sleep.
It has been like this for nights.
Sometimes I lay there for what feels like hours.
Other times I am able to miraculously turn my brain off.
Okay, not "miraculously." I really mean that I specifically pray: "Please God, quiet my mind and let me sleep!" There have been nights where it is a pleading prayer. Thankfully, He is a gracious God.
I was hoping for some inspiring words to come to mind this evening.
But alas I simply sit here, thinking of my kicking baby and a dreamy dreaming husband cuddled up in their beds. ;)
And my mind is suddenly 'blank.'
:)
I should seize this moment and fly into bed.
If you read "Grumpy Bird" you will see that it IS possible to fly. You need a snack as motivation! (This is Baby J's favourite page by the way).
Nighty-night.
I TOTALLLLLY have nights like this. what is up with them? Arrrghhh.....! :) And I could not agree more that going to sleep with the hubby and falling asleep together is HUGE....i hate going in there when he is already asleep because, like you, I also love to spill out those last minute thoughts before falling asleep. Are all girls like that? :)
ReplyDeleteI think that MANY girls are like that. ...I'm hearing it more and more from others. Ours minds are too full, and we don't have a "nothing box" to go into when we need to relax (search "the nothing box" on youtube - it's a funny video). :) My favourite is snuggling right in. It's not the same if he's already asleep (I'm glad I'm not the only one!)
